A news which somewhat shocked me is that Westlake, successor to so prominent epoxy suppliers as Hexion, Resolution and in the end Shell and Bakelite, apparently has decided to shut down operations in their biggest European site at Pernis. Because being under economic pressure, there will be not produced epoxy resins in Pernis anymore. European customers shall be serviced from the US operations. I doubt, this is a very clever idea.
